About Me
Remember when you were passionate about what you did for a living?
I remember myself being fresh out of UC Berkeley at 22 years of age with a degree in hand when I decided to travel the globe. I flew to France, studied French, and got my first full-time job teaching English to the students in the only elementary school in the local village. I realized then that I had discovered my lifelong vocation: I was born to be a teacher.
Fast forward to now and I am still passionate about exemplary teaching. So much so that I believe my mission is to guide beginning and experienced teachers in their work providing the best instruction possible to their K-12 student population. Whether it be in the university, county office, district or classroom setting, I am a firm proponent of guiding teachers in staying engaged in what can be a rewarding, yet challenging profession. My expertise includes being
• a teacher trainer and clinical coach for pre-service, intern, beginning and seasoned teachers at California State University, Fullerton and the Orange County Department of Education
• a lecturer at Chapman University, teaching courses to undergraduates on important issues in education
• a peer reviewer of the Teacher Incentive Fund for the U.S. Department of Education
• a mentor, portfolio reviewer and state compliance review member of the California Induction Program
• a 4th, 5th and 6th grade regular ed and GATE teacher as well as a curriculum and professional development coach with the Anaheim Elementary School District
To add to my quest for knowledge, I received my Ph.D. in Teaching, Language and Culture at Claremont Graduate University in Southern California with an emphasis on Teacher Education and the social-emotional well-being of practicing teachers.
I consider it an honor to have taught hundreds of elementary school students for almost three decades. From it I have learned the importance of mentoring teachers throughout the different phases of their careers in order to provide the best practices - both academically and emotionally - in making a difference in the lives of their students.
I look forward to discussing with you how I can energize your teachers to be the best practitioners they can be. They and their students deserve it!
